Housed in Clermont’s historic district, Totally Unique Salon & Spa is leading the industry into the future, becoming one of the area’s only organic salons.  In other words, Totally Unique is going green -- a direction that isn’t just trendy, but also environmentally responsible. 

New owner Tina Foote explains, “I have always been very passionate about health, wellness and the environment in my personal life, always feeling so conflicted in my profession using chemicals I believed to be dangerous.  Recently, I found professional quality alternatives.” 

The salon offers a wide variety of organic and natural products and services including Spa Ritual chackra balancing manicures and pedicures; organic color, highlights and dimensional color; therapeutic deep tissue and hot stone massages; detoxifying body wraps; waxing services; lavish lash and hair extensions.  “For years people have suffered through smelly, dangerous chemical services to be beautiful.  Now that’s unnecessary.  We’ve done extensive research to make the purest, highest quality products available so you can be beautiful and know you’re doing something good for your health and the environment,” says Tina, who extends her environmental effort by offering organic wine and coffee, and using only recycled garbage bags and cleaning products within the salon. 

With so many benefits, Tina hopes clients realize “you don’t have to poison yourself to be beautiful.”  She understands that most people don’t realize how damaging some of the chemicals can be and hopes to shine a light on information that can help them make a more informed decision about their hair care.  Such chemicals commonly found in products like formaldehyde, toluene and sodium laureth sulfate can do anything from irritating the skin to causing fatigue, some even leading to cancer and memory loss, yet these effects are rarely discussed. 

Believing that knowledge is power, Tina, who is firmly rooted in the Clermont community, sets up at the Farmer’s Market every Sunday from 10-3, educating people about the benefits of organic hair care as well as offering chair massages and hair care products.  Inside the salon, you will find jewelry, art and purses handcrafted by local artists.
